Troy Wise is here taking off our siding. The old redwood bevel lap siding cracked and warped over the years. By the end of the week we should have new siding on the top part of the house. It will need to be painted.
Are you putting up genuine wood? I considered replacing the siding here with a composite (something like Trex), but instead had the house scraped, sanded, filled and painted. Next time (10 years?) I'll reconsider.
We have had woodpecker problems and now have a hole in the cedar siding of the house and beaucoup holes in the garage. *sigh* To fix even on piece of the siding we would have to remove all of it down to the board with the hole. Yikes! Expensive. So right now there is a piece of metal flashing nailed over the hole(s) and painted the color of the house.
EEK!! It looks so dangerous. I am so afraid of heights. It is getting worse, with age.

ReplyDeleteI was going to say EEK, but since someone else did, I'll say GEEZ. Troy? It looks like Ike.
