Sometimes it doesn't happen, eh? Then the leaves turn brown and drop. In SCalif. we had three or four nights of under 40F - all of a sudden every leave was turning. Then this weekend the temps were in the high 80s - and the leaves came down. However, some places are protected and the trees are fabulous.
The leaves just turned this week and are now falling around here.
And it is almost Solstice.
