Ladybugs are so cute NOT
I loved ladybugs when I was a kid. I sang the verse, “Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home…” and brushed them off gently so they could fly away.In recent years we’ve had ladybug house invasions in late October and early November. The first couple of years they came we carefully picked them up and carried them outside. It was tedious work, but we knew they were good for protecting plants from aphids and we wanted them in our yard. However, in the last few years we’ve given up our kind ways. We vacuum them up and dump the bag before it begins to stink. They are all over the south windows.

You have my sympathy. They look so sweet, don't they? But boy, when they decide to take a nip out of you it can really sting.
I almost wish our invasion were lady bugs... I am not sure which ones we have, but they are not as "cute." (& probably not as good for the environment.)
I found this very interesting.
As Australia is an Island, -and as New Zealand consists of 3 Islands- we have very strict laws concerning protection of our environment. Quarantine tends to be strict, with no fruit or vegetables, untreated food of any sort, or plant, animal matter being allowed into the countries, that is untreated. Wooden items are forbidden, unless they are treated, &/or quarantined. Many visitors who fly into our countries fail to understand the gravity of introducing insects & pests into our countries, as they could devastate our crops & our disease free produce.
We do have Ladaybirds, as we call them, but i have never heard of them invading homes here, so they must not be the Asian ones you have.
