"The strongest October storm in 47 years is sweeping across the Bay Area today, forcing evacuations from Antioch to Santa Cruz, wreaking havoc on commuters and causing power outages to thousands," reported the San Jose Mercury News.
I was just about to e-mail you and tell you of weather conditions in my neck of the woods and to check on what was going on in yours, when I first checked your blog. It was nice to see your "handwriting" again. Brought back lots of great memories.
I have lots of candles at the ready, but so far, so good......
I've been thinking about you all day. I hope all is well and the power stays on. We were supposed to get hit -but not as hard - but so far the storm has stayed down south and is bothering Seattle with high winds, rain and power outages. We have only had a few sprinkles and I've been able to sew a bit today on some monthly challenge blocks.
If our power goes out we are sunk - as our house is all electric. At least we have water - we are on city wells, and the city keeps our wells running with generators - hurray for that. Hope we don't lose power - I love my electric stuff.
The weather is going crazy everywhere. I live in Northwest Georgia and we're under a flood warning until 6 p.m. (EST). We've had so much rain the past two weeks I think I'm being to mold. Hope your power stays on and the storms die down out there.
We were without power for 19 hours in August so I know what you went through. I'm glad the power has been restored and that the storm has subsided. Mother Nature is not happy with us this year!
I heard a little about this storm on the news, the words 'hurricane force winds' got stuck in my head....was the wind really bad in your area Christine?
It's always bad to hear about rains on top of burned areas...
I drove up to San Juan Bautista today, but I didn't get on the road until 3pm. There were only a few miles of drenching rain. The windshield wipers on the Lexus come on automatically (scared me the first time) and they ran periodically all the way up. Mary's power was out in the morning for a while, hope that doesn't happen again while I am here or to you where you are. Del
Scary weather seems to be the norm lately... even here, downunder. We have not had power outages, but the winds have been quite terrifying, even though we have had no personal damage. Hope you are OK.

I should have signed my name. I don't know why I always come up anonymous, I never select it.

The winds were very strong. We had a few tree branches down, but nothing serious.
ReplyDeleteWe are not in a burned area, thank goodness.
Today is sunny.

ReplyDeleteLove seeing your handwriting!! Yes, the only thing to do if the electricity goes off is to go back to bed!
