I’ve been distracted

A Kindle is a dangerous toy for a book addict. We found this little white device under our Christmas tree.

I’ve been reading since Christmas day. Kindle books will save space in our house, but I am going to have to set a strict book budget.

  1. Dan says to check your library for e-books. And my inquiring mind wants to know how you hold the kindle in bed to read???

  2. I found it really easy to hold and read in bed. It has a page turner on both sides so whichever way you hold it the pages can turn easily. I was so pleased.

  5. I, too, am tempted to get a Kindle (several friends have them) but since I seem to get most of my books at the Used Book Store, my cost is quite low. And then I share them with friends who share with me and their friends....I can't justify the price of the electronic books. Maybe someday.

  6. I want one. I'm waiting for the competition to kick in and the price to come down! But I'm glad you got one which helps me know even more how much I want one. I have not actually seen one in person, so I love hearing reviews.

  7. i wasnt sure if i would like it or not...i really enjoy holding a "book" in my hand...but the ease and compactness seem pretty handy! keep me posted on how you like it...pros and cons, etc. (obviously you like it if you havent put it down since chrismtas :) what a wonderful gift...who was it from?

  8. They are only just becoming available in Oz. I had understood they were something like ipod & could be listened to, rather than read??
I am so glad you are enjoying yours.

  9. One of the ladies in the Book Group has a Kindle and really enjoys it. However, she does go on excessively about it - I don't even own one and am bored with it. Some books are free - our book for January is anything by Jane Austen, which are all accessible on Kindle without charge - or so she has told us and told us and told.....! Happy reading. Love, Del-at-home

  10. Yes! Isn't it great?! I've downloaded a couple FREE classic books too. Google Free Kindle books and you'll find quite a selection.

  11. I also got one for Christmas. I had been worried about the cost of books, because I had previously gotten mine mostly at garage sales. But DH found a site called feedbooks.com that has thousands of free, legal public domain titles. Bliss, indeed, but I haven't searched for any quilt or textile books yet.
