We are going to have beef stew on this rainy, cold day. Our stew will have fresh carrots. Robert just pulled them from our little garden boxwhich was planted way back in April of 2009. I had no idea carrots would keep on growing through the winter.
And what wonderful carrots they are! I've always felt that homegrown, crookedy carrots are much better tasting than the Con-Agra carrots. Bet your stew is yummy. I'm fixing carrot/butternut squash soup that I started before I went to Oregon! Had the fixin's so I cooked them and put them in the freezer, rather than throw them away.

ReplyDeleteThey look great - bet they taste good too.
ReplyDeleteSuch long carrots! Parsnips are the same, and they taste better after frosty cold weather!
