It is amazing how much paperwork has to be done after someone dies. There are many documents to gather – birth certificates, marriage certificates, service discharge papers, income tax records, Social Security records, 401K records, bank records, and death certificate copies.
I’ve spent the past weeks gathering records and sending forms and records to various agencies. It is a good thing to keep busy.
I do have a comfort zone. My stash sits waiting for me to plunge in and start creating something positive. Thank goodness I have a bountiful stash because my fabric forays are going to be limited in the future.
So happy to see you back....
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed, so much to do and it usually must be done soon. I've been thinking of you a lot today - hoping your good memories are holding you up and helping you through this time.
ReplyDeleteI think of you often and so am glad to hear that you are keeping busy and planning on diving into your stash, soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pain in the buns...i cant believe how much paperwork you have to dig thru, and what is it all needed for?(seems ridiculous if you ask me) But you are right...its probably a good distraction.
ReplyDeleteIts nice to see you posting on here again, and i look forward to seeing your next creation! Many hugs still coming your way! :)
It never ceases to amaze me how paperwork descends at bad times ... upon a death, when one is bent over double from labor pains or with a burst appendix.
ReplyDeleteSpeak up when the stash gets low. I know that I have enough fabric to last for a millenium, and I suspect that others may as well.
It is quite incredible--all that has to be done, filed, etc. isn't it? Remembering the year my parents died. So much to do. Glad to see your post today. I've been thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteI think about you every day, Christine.
ReplyDeleteI realise I may have to face the same situation sooner than I thought.
Hugs.
I think of you often.
ReplyDeleteahhhhh...fabric...soothes our weary soul. I would be happy to share with you any fabric you may need!
ReplyDeleteChristine - Nice to have you back. I understand your paperwork load - Floyd and I had 2-1/2 years to get everything straightened out and still there were things we didn't anticipate, so I spent a lot of time doing just what you are doing now. Keeping busy is an important part of the healing process, I think. And the two of you lived, loved and worked close together for so many years - I know this is a really rocky road. Along with all your online friends I'm sending good thoughts. And I will send fabric when you ask! Del
ReplyDeleteOh my Christine... You write that all so easily. I have gone back and looked again at the pictures of Robert making his jam. And I will be saving the recipe from his Cooking with Robert's website.
ReplyDeleteSo much paperwork...I know it well. Just finishing up with my Dad's paperwork. I keep wanting to pick up the phone or forward an e-mail. I know you miss Robert. You are in my prayers.
