Ripped off
Our garbage truck guy took more than garbage this morning. He managed to rip down our telephone line and pull off the corner trim on the house.
The garbage company, Oakley Disposal, seemed indifferent about the incident. The supervisor said, “Get it fixed and send us the bill.” However, he would not put anything in writing. We have to find our own contractor. I can’t imagine that many contractors will do the work without some sort of paperwork.

Reminds me of some excitement we had with a city recycling collection truck on a rare icy day in Texas. Your driver probably can't blame it on ice.
Sending good vibes for your insurance dealings.
how annoying...i hope everything works out okay :)
Perhaps you could send a registered letter to Oakley so that you would have some record of what was discussed on the telephone. Or perhaps you spoke to the supervisor in person. Something in writing might come in handy some day. How could the driver be so careless? I hope he had his hands slapped. 8>))
Maybe you could call your county representative and let them know what happened. Someone has to be in charge of all of that.
Can your insurance company go after them for the money....even your deductible??
hugs to you today!!!
dawn
Oh NO! In the grand scheme of things, it probably is just an annoyance, but HOW ANNOYING. It doesn't seem like involving your insurance company should ultimately hurt you or impact your future premiums, but I worry about that . . . why can't OAKLEY just be a stand-up company and take care of the problem they created? I'm sitting in texas and grumbling on your behalf this morning ;-)
I am sitting Down Under fuming on your behalf! How careless & destructive. Don't they employ responsible capable drivers. We all know accidents happen, but they should step up & pay for all reparation.
Rant ended.
Yup, get it all in writing! At least on your part, including the pictures you show here.
And you thought OC was annoying!
Your a friggin tool, you make it sould like they did it on purpose. find your own contractor to fix it. What if they had hit your car, would you have let them take it and repair it? It sounds like they took responsibility for the damage, get it fixed and send them the bill, and shut up accidents happen.
It is all fixed now. Everyone is happy!
