Baby, it’s cold INSIDE

This is deja vu all over again.

Last year, on December 24, our heater went out. With the help of our friendly neighborhood heater guy from Cypress Air we did have a warm Christmas in 2008.

Today, the heater went off again and Larry is here again. It’s getting to be a holiday tradition around here.
The good news is: Larry is here. The bad news is: the main circuit board may be dead. He may have to go to Benicia to pick up a new one. Benicia is a 70 mile round trip.

I’ll report later today.

O you poor dear! Last winter our furnace was making horrible booming noises as it kicked on in the morning. The technician thought it was the mother board ($900!) but it turned out to be the blower motor ($600!). So I guess we were lucky and saved $300. Good luck!

glad to hear you are getting it fixed!

Christine, this is NOT a good holiday tradition. I hope Larry gets you fixed up as soon as possible and you can put this experience behind you for many years.

Speaking of same time last year, I woke up this morning and realized that exactly one year ago, I left Michigan, driving a UHaul truck and trailer, the kitties curled up in their carriers beside me in the cab and all three of us stuck on the side of the highway in a snowstorm for hours while I waited for UHaul to come fix a flat on the trailer. Because of the equipment problems and delays, I just barely made it out of Michigan on that first day, but I've never looked back.

I live in Benicia. If you can arrange for me to pick up the part for you, I'll meet Larry somewhere halfway, just let me know where. deborah0523@yahoo.com.

Happy holidays - Deborah

Deborah W,

What a very nice offer. Thank you.

Larry said he will be going to Concord and then to Benicia tomorrow to pick up the circuit board.

We will be fine tonight. We have a little electric heater which we can plug in downstairs. Our house is not very big.

It is well insulated and tomorrow is predicted to be a sunny day. The heat should pour in our south facing windows.

I think we will be fine.
