I want to move to Portland
Terry Grant posted some gorgeous fall pictures on her blog today. She called it “Annual autumn color.” Here is one picture:
Go visit her blog and enjoy the colors. I am going to savor them. Here is what we have here:
Our leaves just turn brown and fall down. So dull.
I love it here on the island the rest of the year, but Fall is not pretty.

How sad your tree looks! Enjoy my fall pictures!
Drive over to Santa Rosa for the day. Look at the fall vineyards and there is lots of color in the trees, also. Atleast that is what I remember. Portland is better for color, I admit.
I love those brilliant Autumn colours. We have some here, but nothing as spectacular as some areas in America.
"All the leaves are brown ... and the sky is grey ..."
I, too, miss the color. At least the gingko trees turn.
The house across the street from me has this huge tree that has been dropping it's yellowed leaves all over the green grass, it's such a vivid color contrast. And as the leaves fall, the crooked branches are revealed, which I love to look at too.
Me too, my son moved there just two years ago. We visited Christmas 08....and I love it! All of the different little communities and neighborhoods! He was only, about 12 when the AOL Quilt group was formed, now he's 28! How time flys!
I moved to Portland after being a
Southern California girl and I can remember being so overwhelmed with the fall beauty! I sent home pressed leaves at every chance I could get! I hadn't even known leaves turned colors!
Now in Japan I've got some pretty nice autumn leaves too but I will always remember Portland fondly.
